A day at the beach

Today we went out to Bray, coastal seaside village in County Wicklow.
It was nice to see some sparkly water and some clear blue skies!

Kerry Bound

Friday afternoon saw an early start to the weekend, so we decided to jump in the car and go and see kierans cousins down in Clare and Kerry, (or as Kieran calls it "The kingdom")
We stopped at Kildare Factory Outlet Village, where Kieran picked up a Lacoste Shirt and pair of shorts at the Lacoste Outlet...He was very happy with himself.

We got to Killaloe, and went into a pub for a couple of Drinks where we met up with Norma, Kieran's cousin, who then took us to another pub, and our night ended in the wee hours of the morning.

The Next day we had a biiiggg sleep in and got up to take a trip to Killarney, and do abit of the ring of Kerry. We took a walk around killarney National Park, a look around Killarney, and stopped off for some lunch at Miss Courtney's Tearooms.

After taking a trip around abit of the Ring of Kerry, we eventually got back to Collette's house (Kieran's other cousin) around 10 at night, and had a big feed of chinese. We had some drinks and chats, and eventually fell into bed.

Next morning I got a call form my boss saying I didn't have to work until 3 the next day, so we decided to go to the pub and watch the kerry vs Cork GAA game, and then stay another night at Norma's.

All in all it was a great weekend with lots of catch ups, drinks and lots of food.

Courtneys Tea rooms...they had all old teacups and old chairs, and lots and lots of yummy cakes

Me Sunning myself in front of Norma's Cottage....thats right, sunning myself

Kieran going for a ride in the tractor......well not really a ride...but imagine if he did!
A part of the ring of Kerry, just beautiful!

sketch sketch sketch

I was talking to one of my design teachers, and telling her about the lack of creativity Dublin has......she pretty much told me thats not an excuse, its all about the person who looks for the creativity.....and she was spot on! There is so much out there that I just wasn't looking!
So I have started going to a life drawing classes, and booked in for a pottery class and screen printing class next week, and have started to draw alot at home. I have also gained a couple of freelance clients, so its all go!
I also found the Dublin Flea markets that are on the last Sunday of each month, and I went along last week....and I walk in and here are all these extremely talented artists and designers selling all of their work! Just what I have been looking for and needing for inspiration.
Here are a couple of photos of life drawing class and some sketches I have been doing.

25 degrees

25 degrees......Yes it did happen.....we aren't lieing! And we made the most of it! We went to the beach, the farmers markets, layed in the park, walked around parts of the city we hadn't seen before and we stumbled across the U2 recording studios (top photo). The next day we went out and bought a little fan for our bedroom, and have used it every night since....lets hope this weather sticks around for a little bit longer!!

Road Trip

A couple of weeks ago two of our good friends from Australia flew over to Dublin, so we decided to take a road trip with them to Galway, a city across the other side of the country. We packed up our bags on the Friday afternoon, and two and half hours later, we drove into rainy Galway and headed into the town.

From the little we saw of it, it feels like a vibrant little city packed full of things to do. We decided to do a road trip the next day around the country side and down to the cliffs of Moher. It was great weather, good company, and a good weekend all round. Here are some photos of our little weekend getaway!
